JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS: price, what it covers, and whether it pays
The JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS (All Kyushu) costs ¥21,000 for 3 days in a row, one person, checked on 19 October 2026. JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS (All Kyushu)
- All JR Kyushu lines, including Shimonoseki.
- Shinkansen: Kyushu Shinkansen, Hakata to Kagoshima-Chuo; Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, Takeo-Onsen to Nagasaki.
- Not valid on the Sanyo Shinkansen between Kokura and Hakata (JR West).
- Limited express trains: Sonic, Relay Kamome, Midori, Huis Ten Bosch, Kasasagi, Yufuin no Mori, Kirishima, Nichirin.
- Reserved seats free without limit when booked in Kyushu at a ticket office or machine.
- Current prices since 1 April 2025; no later change announced on the page.
JR KYUSHU RAIL PASS (Northern Kyushu)
- Northern Kyushu: Fukuoka, Oita, Kumamoto (and Misumi), Nagasaki and Saga.
- Shinkansen: Kyushu Shinkansen, Hakata to Kumamoto; Nishi-Kyushu Shinkansen, Takeo-Onsen to Nagasaki.
- Not valid on the Sanyo Shinkansen between Kokura and Hakata (JR West).
- Limited express trains: Sonic, Relay Kamome, Midori, Huis Ten Bosch, Kasasagi, Yufuin no Mori.
- Up to 6 free reserved seat bookings in Kyushu.

Where each figure comes from
How the sums are made
Single fares are station prices for one person, fare plus limited express charge for an ordinary reserved seat, read for Tuesday 20 October 2026 (regular season), from 10:00 unless noted. Legs are separate tickets; a through ticket over the same route can cost less. Each trip is set against the pass length that gives every train its own day, up to the longest pass on sale. Fares that could not be read are left out, so those totals are "at least". The calculator link opens the trip with two nights in each city; change them to fit.
