Interrail and Eurail pass calculator
Eurail is now Interrail: since 10 September 2026 everyone buys the same Interrail Global Pass, wherever they live[1][2]. It costs €381 for 7 travel days within a month in 2nd class[3], and most fast trains add a seat reservation, such as €35 on Eurostar from London[4]. For London to Budapest in 6 trains, the cheapest tickets we found for 16 February 2027 cost €225, against €448 for the pass with its reservations, so tickets at those fares came out cheaper. Enter your own trips below; checked 27 October 2026.

Ticket prices are the cheapest 2nd class fares on the operators' own sites for one person, one way, for 16 February 2027, departures from 10:00, with 4 legs read on the nearest date the operator sold. They change with the date and how early you book. Reservation fees are Interrail's stated pass holder fees[4][10]; where a train has a range, the lowest is used, and optional seats are not counted. Booking through Interrail adds €2 a train[9].

How the pass works
- One pass for everyone. Eurail and Interrail are now one brand: everyone travels with the same Interrail Pass, no matter where they live. The Eurail Pass was sold only until 9 September 2026.[1]
- Country of residence. Your country of residence is where you live when you start using the Pass; it is printed on the Pass, and if it does not match your ID you must carry official proof of residence.[5]
- Travel in your own country. If you live in one of the 33 Pass countries, the Global Pass covers one outbound and one inbound journey in your country of residence, on travel days. Each of these journeys can include as many connections as you need to cross the border.[6]
- Living outside the Pass countries. Interrail's own-country rule does not apply to residents of countries outside the Pass network.[6]
- Travel days. A travel day runs from 00:00 to 23:59 local time, and you can take as many trains as you like on it.[7]
- Night trains. A night train that leaves before 23:59 and arrives the next day uses one travel day, the day it leaves. If you change trains after midnight, you use 2 travel days, and you cannot take a night train on the last day your Pass is valid.[7]
- Continuous passes. On a continuous pass, every day of the validity period is a travel day.[7]
- Mobile pass activation. Add the Pass in the Rail Planner app and activate it before your first train, online, with your passport or ID number and a start date. You can activate it up to 11 months after purchase.[8]
- Adding journeys. On the mobile Pass, any day with a journey added to your trip counts as a travel day.[8]
- Reservations. Seat reservation fees are not included in the Pass, and most high-speed and night trains need a reservation at extra cost.[3]
- Class. 1st class Passes are valid in 1st and 2nd class carriages; 2nd class Passes only in 2nd class.[3]
- Buying ahead. Buy now and travel up to 11 months later.[3]
- Interrail booking fee. Seat reservations booked through Interrail's own reservation system cost an extra €2 per passenger per train, plus €9 per order for paper tickets.[9]

Where an operator did not yet sell that date, the nearest Tuesday it sold is used and the leg's date and note say so. Pass prices and reservation fees are the official Interrail figures for adults on 27 October 2026. Amounts in other currencies are converted to euros at the European Central Bank rate[38].
